Bonne Bell Gluten Free Statement

We use two ingredients that are glutens in our products. The first is the Wheat Germ Oil. It is primarily found in the Lip Smacker balm based products. We do not use the Wheat Germ Oil in any other product lines except the Lip Smacker Balms. The second gluten we use is barley extract found in our Lip Lite Glossy Tints & Dasani Balms. The Vitamin E Acetate (Tocopheryl Acetate) is synthetically derived. All other products can be classified as gluten free without the Wheat Germ Oil and Barley Extract.

Lavera Natural Cosmetics are Gluten Free

People afflicted with Celiac Disease and those with wheat germ allergies need to be careful not just of what they eat, but also what they put on their skin. Skin care products must be free of gliadin, a gluten protein found in wheat (and a few other grains). Gliadin is the active ingredient that causes a immune system reaction for those afflicted – 80% of those with Celiac Disease have Anti-Gliadin antibodies.

Lavera takes pride in the fact that its products are specially made for those with sensitive skin and special skin care needs. All Lavera and LAVERÉ products are 100% free of gliadin and are safe for customers with Celiac disease and wheat allergies. While a few products do contain wheat germ, it has been specially treated (denatured) to remove gliadin, and is completely safe. In essence, by removing gliadin, wheat germ can be considered “gluten-free” and safe.
