P&G Gluten Free Statement - May 2026

 

 

I was in an online chat with P&G in May 2026 asking if P&G products are Gluten Free and if they have any gluten ingredients in their products. 

Brands mentioned by the representative included:

• Pantene
• Herbal Essences
• Head & Shoulders
• Aussie
• Secret
• Old Spice
• Ivory

I received the following response:

If we add gluten, wheat, or wheat extract directly to a product, it will be listed in the ingredients on the label. Still, we cannot give a 100% guarantee that trace levels of gluten are not present. Many ingredients used in our products are purchased as raw material and we do not have information on the make-up of these raw materials or if they have been in contact with other materials before they arrive at the plant.

Also, if it has been added to the perfume (at a very low level) by one of our suppliers, this will not be listed in the ingredients. Like many companies, we often purchase the scents for our products from external suppliers, and the components of these scents are proprietary information belonging to the suppliers. As a result, it is possible that a very small amount of gluten may be present in our products that contain fragrances.

Physicians advise that as our products are used on the hair and skin but not ingested, it would be very unlikely that a person with wheat intolerance or celiac disease would have a reaction from trace amounts of gluten. If you have any questions on this, please consult your doctor.

I contacted eos in May 2026 asking "Is eos Gluten Free?" and if they have any gluten ingredients in their products and I received the following response:

Our products do not contain gluten, and are not exposed to gluten during manufacturing. The oat ingredient found in some of our products is certified gluten-free. Our products are also checked in the final stage for gluten traces as an added precaution.

I contacted Chapstick in May 2026 asking "Is Chapstick Gluten Free?" and if they have any gluten ingredients in their products and I received the following response:

All Chapstick products are manufactured to meet requirements of the consumer in that specific market and to meet those countries regulations. ChapStick Products marketed in the United States have not been tested directly for gluten but contains no grain derivatives. While many finished products are tested for gluten, these products have not been tested.  

Kindly note that Chapstick is not able to make recommendations on use of this product in patients with celiac disease, we would recommend you seek the advice of your Pharmacist or Doctor on this point. Prior to using a product, we recommend you always check the list of ingredients printed on the pack and follow the instructions available with the product. Applicable to all ChapStick variants

Sevi Vegan Cosmetics are Gluten Free

To the best of our knowledge, our products are gluten free. We do
not use any Vitamin E in our products at this time (due to the fact that
we have not been able to get a straight answer from distributor about
the actual source of the Vitamin E). This is a fairly new issue (gluten free products) for us and love to find out more about it. So we are asking our customers to send us specific ingredient or ingredients to stay away from or look into, we would appreciate it.
