I contacted Carmex in May 2026 asking "Is Carmex Gluten Free?" and if they have any gluten ingredients in their products and I received the following response:
Thank you for reaching out to Carmex. Unfortunately, we cannot claim that our lip balm is gluten free and free of cross contamination of other allergens. For Carmex to make the claim “gluten free” it would require that Carmex have attestations on file from each of ingredient supplier of that product, along with taking the appropriate manufacturing steps to ensure no cross contamination occurs. This is a claim Carmex has not pursued and therefore the claim cannot be made for the Carmex brands.
